The 34-year-old Italian secured a last-gasp 2-2 draw for Milan against Portsmouth in the UEFA Cup on Thursday, taking his overall European tally to 65 goals, one ahead of Real Madrid hitman Raul.
Even though Super Pippo believes he should be a few more goals ahead of Raul, he conceded that the Spaniard still has time to break his record.
"It is news to me. I was told that the Intercontinental Cup did not count. In fact, they did not put in my two goals I scored last season in Yokohama," Inzaghi told Sky Italia.
"It’s not a problem, anyway, because Raul is younger than me and with time he will beat my record. As an Italian it is wonderful to be there competing with the best in the world."
Inzaghi scored a considerable part of his goals during his Juventus reign in the late 90s. The veteran forward is nearing a career total of 300 goals.
Kaka Staying
Inzaghi ruled out the option that his teammate Kaka will leave to the Premiership, amid reports linking him with Chelsea and Manchester City.
"I can't see Kaka in any other jersey. He's loved by everyone and he adores the atmosphere he works in," he said.
"I know what he thinks about Milan; for that reason I'm calm.
"He only said he admires the Premier League. Between that and actually going to play there though, there's a lot.
"You'll see, he'll do what I'm doing: he will also end his career in the Rossonero shirt."
