Middlesbrough striker Ahmed Hossam 'Mido' has made his comeback in Sunday’s goalless home draw with Newcastle United in the Premier League.

The 25-year-old came on as a second-half substitute, replacing Frenchman Jeremie Aliadiere on 77 minutes but he couldn't leave his mark.

The towering striker, who scored four goals with Boro this season, was kept on the fringes in the past weeks as a result of a niggling hamstring problem.

His compatriot and teammate Mohamed Shawky is still sidelined as he hasn't overcome his calf injury yet.

Now Gareth Southgate's men lie 12th in the Premiership table with 19 points.
