Ajax have earlier revealed that the Spanish giants approached them about buying the international striker, and it seems negotiations between the two parties went better and faster than expected.

"An agreement between Real Madrid and Ajax has been reached regarding the signing of Huntelaar," said a statement on Real Madrid's website.

"The deal is conditional to the player passing a medical test, after that he will sign for the club until June 2013."

Real were desperate to find a replacement for Ruud van Nistelrooy, who was ruled out until the end of the season with a knee injury.

With 18 games and ten goals for Holland, Huntelaar seems to be the perfect solution for Real's attacking problems.
