Al-Shabab have earlier submitted a one and half years offer worth $500,000 for the international center back.

However, Ahli marketing director Adli Al-Qaeyi told FilGoal.com that upon the coaching staff's request, the offer was rejected due to the team's need for Gomaa.

From his side, the 33-year-old player spoke of his delight that Ahli have put their confidence in him.

"The coaching staff told me that I'm an important part of the team and that's why they rejected the offer," Gomaa told FilGoal.com.

"I want to thank Al-Shabab officials and apologize for rejecting their offer."

Gomaa had an earlier experience of playing in the Gulf Cooperation Countries (GCC), when he was loaned out to Al-Siliya of Qatar last season.
