The paper stated that Real vice-president Vicente Boluda met with Valencia president Vicente Soriano to discuss a possible deal.

The in-form Silva has attracted a host of suitors after putting in some impressive displays in Spain's EURO 2008 triumphant campaign.

Reports suggested that Valencia might be forced to sell some of their starts to solve their financial crisis.

But Soriano has recently played down such claims, saying that media exaggerated the problem.

"The club has a perfectly defined, economically viable plan," Soriano told Valencia website.

"The president, the directors, the executives and the employees of the club all continue in their task of guiding Valencia towards economic stability."
