The forward was a prominent figure behind Ahli’s local and continental domination over the last few seasons, helping the club win three CAF Champions League titles in the last four years.

After scoring three goals in the 2006 Club World Cup, the 30-year-old has the chance of beating Romario and Nicolas Anelka and be the competition’s all time scorer if he hits the net for Ahli this time around.

"I’m not the star of the team, the team is the star," Abou-Treika was quoted as saying by FIFA.com.

"Football is a team game. I don't care about the individual accolades."

From his side, skipper Shadi Mohamed confirmed that Ahli will be doing their best to show the world that they are capable of well-representing the Dark Continent.

"We want to show Africa why we are here fighting for them. The Pachuca game will be key, but we want to reach the final for sure,” Shadi confirmed.

After reaching the competition’s semi-final in 2006, Ahli will be hoping to go further in this year’s Club World Cup.
