Former Real Madrid coach Bernd Schuster has left the club without personally saying goodbye to most club players.

The incident is a sign of how the relation between the German tactician and the Real players has worsened over the last few weeks.

According to Marca, Schuster left the club without returning to the training ground for a farewell, and he informed most players with his sacking decision through text messages.

Malian midfielder Mahamadou Diarra, who is currently in hospital for a surgery was the only player personally visited by Schuster prior to the coach’s final departure.

Despite winning La Liga title for Real last season, Schuster fell out of favour with the board after a string of poor results, which saw the team drop to fifth place in the table, nine points behind leaders Barcelona.

Former Sevilla and Tottenham Hotspur coach Juande Ramos has been installed to take over the helm at Santiago Bernabeu.
