Pachuca captain Miguel Calero said that his team prevailed in the FIFA Club World Cup game against Ahli because they played "good football".

The Mexican outfit recovered from a two-goal deficit to beat Ahli 4-2 on Saturday.

"Pachuca is all about good football, and good football leads to victory," the veteran keeper told the post match conference.

"The coach really did well to encourage us, and I'm really proud of my teammates today," he added.

Calero was diplomatic when asked if Ahli opposite number Amir Abdul-Hamid is to blame for the four goals that his net accepted.

"I know the Ahli goalkeeper, he is a good goalkeeper and I don't think he bares responsibility.

"He might have been able to stop two of the four goals, but I think it was more down to our players who have excellent ball execution techniques."

The 37-year-old guardian said that he and his teammates are looking forward to progressing in the CWC, especially after their early exit in 2007.

"We didn't do well last year, and we wanted to seize the opportunity in 2008, and here we are," Calero said. "I hope we continue to play well and we will just take it step by step from now."

Calero talked about how emotional things were in the locker room after the game.

"Last year we were in tears because we lost. Today we were in tears because we won and I hope the tears of joy will continue."
