Amir received most of the beating after Ahli's 4-2 defeat to Pachuca in the Club World Cup last Saturday, but Al-Sayed slammed critics against his Egypt teammate.
"I have seen the post-match reaction on TV and I think the criticism on Amir was too fierce and inexplicable," Al-Sayed told FilGoal.com.
"I can see that his critics have little knowledge about goalkeeping.
"He does not deserve all that, because he cannot be solely blamed for Ahli's defeat."
Hadari Comparison
Al-Sayed rejected the notion of comparing Amir to his mighty predecessor Essam Al-Hadari, insisting that the former has more to offer in the future.
"It is unfair to compare Amir to Hadari, because Amir needs time to cement his position as Ahli's number one," Al-Sayed added.
Ironically, Al-Sayed was linked with a move to Ahli in the wake of Hadari's notorious departure last season.
However, the 30-year-old has just committed his future to Zamalek after agreeing a new contract on Sunday.
