Middlesbrough advanced to the fourth round of the FA Cup after registering a 2-1 victory over Blue Square Premier side Barrow on Saturday.

Afonso Alves scored a brace for the premiership outfit either side of the interval on 23 and 62 minutes, whereas Jason Walker netted the away side's only goal ten minutes from the final whistle.

Egyptian hitman Mido was introduced on 84 minutes instead of Marvin Emnes, who came on as a substitute in the first half when Jeremie Aliadiere was pulled out due to injury.

On the other hand, midfielder Mohamed Shawky wasn't included in Middlesbrough's squad.
