Ahli have turned down two Saudi offers for defender Wael Gomaa and striker Osama Hosni, the club's general coordinator Hadi Khashaba said on Thursday.

"The club have rejected Shabab and Hazm offers for Gomaa and Hosni respectively," Khashaba told Ahli's official website.

The fact that Gomaa's contract expires at the end of the season did not tempt Ahli to sell him to Shabab in the January transfer window.

The Red Devils are set to open talks with the combative defender over a contract extension to avoid losing him for nothing in the summer.

Shabab might have missed out on landing Gomaa, but they still target another Ahli player in Angolan striker Flavio Amado.

Ahli's marketing director Adli Al-Qaeyi told FilGoal.com earlier on Thursday that his side won't offload Flavio unless they find his replacement.

Hazm wanted to sign out-of-favor striker Hosni on a six-month loan deal but Ahli apparently still believe the 26-year-old has a part to play in the team's Egyptian League campaign.

Hosni is used mainly as a substitute by Ahli's Portuguese coach Manuel Jose.

Khashaba has also confirmed that Petrojet, the league's surprising leaders, are interested in signing defender Rami Adel.

Adel was told he had no future at Ahli after being involved in a dispute with coach Jose.
