Inter Milan refuted Marco Materazzi's agent claims that his client has been approached by Tottenham Hotspur.

"We have not received any offers from any English teams for Marco Materazzi," said Inter sporting director Marco Branca.

"Marco is under contract with Inter until June 2010. Usually the club's position regarding players like Marco is to keep them."

Earlier on Wednesday, agent Claudio Vigorelli revealed that Spurs want the 35-year-old defender, who would consider a move to London.

"There is interest in England and I can say that Tottenham in recent days have expressed a real interest in Marco," Vigorelli told Calciomercato.

"We are at a very early stage, they are talking with Inter and presenting something to the player - then it is up to the club and Marco to decide whether to accept or not."

Materazzi has become a backup defender at San Siro, with the presence of Christian Chivu, Ivan Cordoba, Walter Samuel and Nicolas Burdisso.

He is believed to be one of several Inter players on the shortlist of Spurs boss Harry Redknapp, who is looking to add depth to his relegation-threatened side this winter.

Spurs are linked with Burdisso, Mario Balotelli and former Arsenal ace Patrick Vieira.
