"I sustained a hamstring strain in training and the team doctor advised me not to play tonight in order not to aggravate the problem," the Egyptian told FilGoal.com.

"I need five days of rest to fully recover, so I don't know whether I would be able to play against Metz in Tuesday's league game.

"But I hope to recover in time for that important match."

Abou-Mosallam, who joined Ajaccio on a six-month loan from Strasbourg, made his debut in the 2-1 victory over Reims in the French Ligue 2 last week.

It was his first competitive action this season as the former Ahli man did not play any match with Strasbourg.
