Telecom salvaged a draw against Police

Police Union reversed a two-goal deficit to draw 2-2 with Telecom Egypt in the Egyptian Premier League game played on Wednesday.

At the Arab Contractors Stadium, Ahmed Gaafar put Telecom ahead on 50 minutes to take his goal tally to eight goals, level with the league’s top scorer Mohamed Barakat.

Three minutes later, Ahli bound Mahmoud Samir scored on his debut to double Telecom’s lead.

The second half witnessed a rejuvenated Police side that managed to get back in the game with an Abdullah Farouk strike in the 65th minute.

Talaat Youssef’s men completed their dramatic comeback, when striker Mahmoud Abdul-Rahman hit a 92nd minute equalizer.

While Telecom climb to 12th place in the table with 17 points, Police remain eleventh level on points with the former.

Boring draw

In another game, neither side could break the deadlock, as Tersana and Asyut Petroleum played a drab goalless draw in Cairo.

The game witnessed Amr Samaka’s debut for his old club Tersana, after the former Ahli man rejoined The Hammers from Kazma in the Kuwaiti league.

Mohamed Omar’s team had a golden opportunity to win the game, after three attackers were released through before Sami Abou-Zeid shot wide.

Samaka almost crowned his first game for Tersana with a goal, but the playmaker was unlucky to see his second half shot bounce off the post.

Tersana remain rooted to the bottom of the league table with 13 points. Asyut are joint seventh with Masri on 20 points.
