The encounter ended in a boring goalless draw, and Amer confirmed that the pitch played its role in hindering the players’ performance.

“The Pitch is shit. Not only that it affected our players’ display but also Tersana’s,” Amer said after the game.

“It was difficult for the players to control the ball, and then think of the next move, that’s why the game’s pace was very slow.

“But what can we do, this is one of Egyptian football’s malfunctions and we’ve to somehow cope with it,” added the former Ahli star.

Amer earlier complained about the pitch at Cairo International stadium, when his team faced Ahli, claiming that the Red Devils deliberately over-water the pitch ahead of games.
