A niggling knee injury ruled Abou-Treika out of action for considerable spells this season.

He missed some crucial games such as last month's Cairo derby against Zamalek and Ahli's African Super Cup victory over Sfaxien last week.

"Many reports talked about an alleged injury because I flew to Germany to consult a knee specialist," Abou-Treika told FilGoal.com on Thursday.

"It was a routine visit that had nothing to do with any injury. The doctor who treated me last year advised me to undergo regular check-ups so I'm doing that now.

"I'm 100% fit and ready to return to action," the 30-year-old added.

Ahli coach Manuel Jose is expected to name Abou-Treika in his side's squad for Saturday's Egyptian Premier League game against Masri.
