AC Milan boss Carlo Ancelotti is eager to keep veteran midfielder David Beckham at the San Siro after his three-month loan period ends.

Former Real Madrid and Manchester United star Beckham has already revealed his intention to extend his stay at the Serie A side, after he showed glimpses of his spectacular form with the Italian team in the past few weeks.

But his club Los Angeles Galaxy have turned down Milan's initial £6million bid for a permanent agreement, but the latter have reportedly tried to lure the MLS side with additional four million.

"In my opinion, in order to keep Beckham, sacrifices should be made because he is an important player for the team," Ancelotti was quoted by Sky Sports as saying.

For My Boys

Beckham cited his sons as another reason for him to stay with Ancelotti's side, saying he wants to make them proud of him.

"My boys love football and I would be very proud for them to see my name at the top of the list," he said. "When I was a kid I had all the sticker books and collected everything to do with football.

"I watched everything too. I lived and breathed it. It's what I always wanted to do and is what my dad brought me up doing."

Beckham has equaled Bobby Moore's 108-cap record for an outfield England player upon featuring in Spain Friendly a couple of days ago, and apparently he's following in the footsteps of the English legend.

"Watching the likes of Bobby Moore and Bobby Charlton was something I was brought up on," he elaborated.

"We looked up to great players, but for Bobby Moore to be an East End lad as well, he lived only a few miles from me.

"I was aware of who was at the top of the list when I was young. I was always aware of what England players had done in their careers and how many games they'd played."
