Arab Contractors striker Reda Al-Weeshi is proud that his opener against Olympic is ranked among the fastest 10 goals in the Egyptian Premier League history.

The combative frontman scored twice as Contractors defeated Olympic 3-1 on Friday.

He needed 42 seconds to open the scoring, capitalizing on the keeper's failure to handle Ahmed Abdul-Aziz's cross to head into an empty net at the far post.

"I'm proud that my name will be etched into the league's history books," Al-Weeshi told FilGoal.com on Saturday.

"Claiming all three points was more important than my personal achievement, but I'm still very happy with what I've done."

Former Zamalek striker Ayman Younes registered the fastest goal in the league's history.

In Zamalek's game against Suez in the 1990/91 season, Younes scored 14 seconds after the kick-off.

Al-Weeshi has been a revelation since joining Contractors last summer after failing to establish himself as a regular first-team player at Ahli.

The 23-year-old is the Mountain Wolves' top scorer with seven goals so far this season.
