Ashour was substituted midway through the second-half of Ahli's 2-1 victory over Arab Contractors on Wednesday with a bruised knee.

Scans on Thursday confirmed that the 24-year-old will not be able to take part in Sunday's game as he needs a week to fully recover.

Ashour is also doubtful for Ahli's anticipating clash against rivals Ismaili next Thursday.

International defender and Ahli skipper Shadi Mohamed will also miss the Petrojet game after collecting his third yellow card.

Ahli are on top of the Egyptian Premier League table with 39 points, five ahead of Petrojet, who are placed second.

The title holders still have one match in hand.
