Scouts from both clubs were in Cairo to watch Shikabala play for Egypt against Ghana, but were disappointed that the 23-year-old wasn’t named for the game.

The talented player was overlooked by Egypt coach Hassan Shehata after hitting back at Zamalek fans's chants during the team's league game against Ghazl Mahalla.

Spox, who dubbed Shikabala as the new 'Nwanko Kanu' highlighted the player's earlier experience playing in Europe with Greek club PAOK.

The report also confirmed that several other clubs in the old continent are keen on acquiring Shikabala's services including Ajax Amsterdam, Glasgow Celtic and Blackburn Rovers.
