Shawky, who is not a common speaker to the media, broke his silence as he revealed his willingness to play elsewhere in the Premiership.
The 27-year-old's contract with Boro expires in June 2011, but it looks certain that his stay at the Riverside will not last to this date.
"I will not complete my contract at Boro. I will start from now to search for a new club," Shawky said in the Mirror.
"I haven't received any offers yet, but I have huge hope that they will arrive in the coming period, especially from English clubs, who now know my abilities."
Shawky failed to carve out a regular spot with Gareth Southgate's side, starting only nine Premiership games out of 26 so far this term.
He scored a rare goal for Egypt in this month's friendly draw with Ghana, but the defensive midfielder was left out of Boro's squad during the previous two games.
Mido Injustice
Shawky lamented Mido's loan switch to Wigan as he believes his Egypt mate did not receive a fair treatment with Southgate's side.
"Mido underwent a lot of injustice at Middlesbrough. He was the best striker in the squad and its top scorer, but despite this he was not played regularly," he added.
Boro are second from bottom in the Premiership and their current status is likely to provoke the exit of several key players in the near future.
The Yorkshire club are currently on a 14-match winless streak in the Premiership as their last victory came in November 2008 at Aston Villa.
