Since joining Liverpool in 2007, Torres has been a real menace to any team the Reds face. However, Pepe is keen to deny the Spanish striker from scoring against Real.

"Torres is a player with brilliant qualities. He is very fast and strong and it will be very interesting to play against him," Pepe was quoted as saying by Marca.

"But with a bit of talking and organizing with Fabio Cannavaro, we can stop him (Torres).

"I will have to be very focused against him though. I will need to think ahead of Torres in order to cut him from any support on the field."

Despite having a rough start to their season, where coach Bernd Schuster was replaced by Juande Ramos, Pepe is convinced that Los Merengues are currently in great shape.

"Every player was really affected with the way we finished 2008, as there were many things we didn’t like in the team," added the Portuguese.

"But we want to show that the change of coaches has paid off. Now we've a very good side and the team is playing as one unit."
