France ace Thierry Henry put an end to the speculation over his future by stating that he wants to stay at Barcelona till he retires.

Recent reports linked the former Arsenal man with several Premier League sides, including Manchester City, who are targeting a good number of high-profile players.

But Henry reaffirmed that he has no intention of leaving the Primera Liga club.

"I would like to do that (stay at Barca). I always say that and at times I think people do not listen to me," Henry told La Vanguardia.

Apart from his comfortable status at Barcelona, the versatile player assured that he relishes the life style in Catalunya.

"You know, I love this city. We are in February and it is sunny. However hard it was last year, the people in the street were always encouraging me," he said.

"I enjoy the life here and the food is great too."

Not Spain

Henry, who spent about a year and a half at Barcelona, has apparently become imbued with the Catalans' culture.

The veteran striker said he feels as though Catalunya does not belong to Spain.

"What I believe is this; Catalunya is not Spain, it is something else and you have to feel it," he commented.

"Barca is another story. When you come here from Arsenal and there are so many people it is very surprising."
