Mohamed Zidan's Borussia Dortmund held Hoffenheim to a goalless draw on Saturday as Hertha Berlin moved top after beating Borussia Monchengladbach 2-1.

Egypt forward Zidan was included in Dortmund's starting line-up for the first time in four matches following his impressive display against Schalke last week.

He scored a late equalizer as Dortmund salvaged a 1-1 draw with local rivals Schalke.

But Zidan couldn't add to his five-goal tally against Hoffenheim and was substituted with four minutes remaining, making way for Christopher Kullmann.

Dortmund's third successive draw put them in ninth place of the Bundesliga table with 33 points.

Hoffenheim slipped to third on 41 points, two ahead of leaders Hertha, who overcame basement side Monchengladbach.

Two first-half goals from Andriy Voronin and Pal Dardai gave Hertha all three points.
