Bayern looking to enforce their ranks

Bayern Munich made up for their German Cup exit on Wednesday by beating Hannover 5-1 in the German Bundesliga on Saturday.

The German giants were ousted from the cup after losing 4-2 to Bayer Leverkusen in the competition's quarter-final.

Despite falling behind to a Jiri Stajner goal in the 15th minute, Bayern made an impressive comeback through a Daniel Van Buyten goal five minutes later.

On 25 minutes, Miroslav Klose put Jurgen Klinsmann's men ahead by heading Bastian Schweinsteiger's pinpoint free-kick.

Hamit Altintop added Bayern's third after some lovely footwork from the Turkish international in the Hannover box.

Lukas Podolski scored a rare goal for the Bavarians mid-way through the second half, after meeting Ze Roberto's left-footed cross with a well-placed header.

Argentine defender Martin Demichelis wrapped up Bayern's big win with an 89th minute strike.

Also in the Bundesliga, Andriy Voronin was the hero of the day for Hertha Berlin, as the Ukrainian striker's hat-trick handed his team a 3-1 win at Energie Cottbus.

The striker, who's on loan at Hertha from Liverpool, hit the net on 34, 44 and 88 minutes to cancel out Cagdas' early strike for the hosts.
