Egyptian league title contenders Petrojet dropped two points on Saturday as they drew 1-1 with Asyut Petroleum.

Sayed Abdul-Moghni opened the scoring for Asyut in the 52th minute, but Ghanaian striker Eric Bekoe put the visitors back on level terms with a 73rd minute penalty.

Petrojet move to third place on 40 points, while Asyut are 12th with 26 and are still in danger of being demoted.

In Alexandria, Ittihad showed no sympathy to their struggling neighbors Olympic, beating them 4-0 in the local derby.

Goals from Mohamed Ragab, Mohamed Gaber, Hassan Moussa and Mahmoud Sobhi sealed an expected win for Taha Basri's side.

Ittihad stay sixth with 33 points, while Olympic remain second from bottom with 20.
