The two teams will clash in the competition's quarter final on April 8th and 14th and Begiristain stressed that away goals will be crucial in deciding the tie's winner.

"We have often demonstrated this season that we can score on the road and we must continue to do that. We must have the confidence that we can score away from home," Begiristain told Ona FM.

Bayern made it to the quarters after thrashing Sporting Lisbon 12-1 on aggregate, and Begiristain is convinced that the Germans are currently high on confidence.

"Bayern will head into the clash on an upward momentum, just like we are, and we are both alive in three competitions.

"We know that their style of football will give us many problems, but we have to be faithful to our own playing philosophy, although we must also play with intelligence."

When asked about Franck Ribery's threat, Begiristain said that the French midfielder is not the only player behind Bayern's strength.

"Ribery is a quality player, but he wasn’t the only one responsible for beating Sporting CP 12-1.

"It will be necessary to keep an eye on all their players," added the ex-Spain player.
