The Dutch international has recently fallen down the pecking order at Santiago Bernabeu, especially after the club replaced Bernd Schuster with Juande Ramos.

English reports suggested that the former Ajax and Hamburg man is being targeted by Chelsea, where Dutch coach Guus Hiddink is in charge of the London club.

"It's flattering when someone like Guus Hiddink is interested as he is one of the best," the player told The Sun.

The 26-year-old added that he would play anywhere in order to maintain his place in the Holland squad.

"If my World Cup selection is threatened I must think about a transfer."

Van der Vaart earlier stated that he lost any hope of gaining Ramos' confidence in his abilities.

"Apparently Ramos does not trust me and that is that. If I felt that I could change things then I'd speak to him, but right now I do not have many hopes," he bitterly said.
