Tunisia started their World Cup final phase qualifiers with a crucial 2-1 win over Kenya in Nairobi on Sunday.

Tunisia opened the scoring as early as the sixth minute through defender Ammar Jemal.

The hosts managed to equalize on 70 minutes thanks to a Dennis Oliech strike, before Issam Jemaa restored the lead for Humberto Coelho's men two minutes later.

The Kartaj Eagles are now top of Group B with three points, awaiting the outcome of Nigeria's game against Mozambique on Sunday.

In Group A, Togo beat four-times African champions Cameroon 1-0 in Lome.

Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor scored the only goal of the game to send his team top of the group on three points.
