Zamalek want to run the rule over an anonymous Congolese striker starting next season, agent Ahmed Abbas revealed on Tuesday.

The club football committee were impressed upon watching some of the targeted player's highlights, and he's going to be handed a trial soon.

"He's set to arrive in Cairo by the end of the current week," the agent told FilGoal.com.

"The player will take part in several training sessions at Zamalek, and the technical staff will decided whether to sign him or not after assessing his level."

Abbas refused to disclose the hitman's name.

The Cairo side already have three expatriates within their ranks in Ghana's Junior Agogo, Brazilian winger Ricardo Alves and Ivorian striker Olie Koffi.

Zamalek are seeking to bolster their frontline, with Gamal Hamza planning to join Sweden outfit Vasalunds IF next summer.

Agogo is also unlikely to see his three-year contract through.

Doubts were cast on the robust frontman's future with the 11-time Egyptian champions, following a series of disputes with the club's board.

Both players have been skipping regular training for no good reason, which further suggests the ongoing season will be their last at Zamalek.

Boss Michel Decastel is now depending on a strike partnership consists of Abdul-Halim Ali and Sherif Ashraf.
