Andres Iniesta gave the Blaugrana a first-minute lead when he easily tapped in Thierry Henry's low cross, following a trade-mark dash by the Frenchman.

Iniesta was once again involved in the second goal on 67 minutes, when his shot was deflected in by Recre defender Morris.

Nine minutes from time, Lionel Messi poorly converted a spot kick, which caused no problems for Recreativo keeper Asier Risego.

The win cemented Barca's top spot with 75 points, nine ahead of Real Madrid, who face Valladolid on Sunday.
