Valencia drew 2-2 with Barcelona in the Spanish Primera Liga to end the Catalans' run of seven successive wins.

Josep Guardiola's men remain first in the league table with 82 points, seven ahead of second-placed Real Madrid who will face Sevilla on Sunday.

At the Mestalla, Barca superstar Lionel Messi put the Catalans upfront on 24 minutes before Hedwiges Maduro drew the home side level two minutes from time.

Valencia added their second on 45 minutes through Pascal Hernandez and Thierry Henry made sure the visitors didn’t leave the game empty handed with a late strike.

Messi broke the deadlock following a wonderfully crafted move, which saw the Argentine exchange passes with Andres Iniesta twice before tapping in from close range.

Dutch midfielder Maduro scored for Valencia after heading a right-flank corner past the advancing Victor Valdes.

Hernandez was released through right before the half-time whistle and the winger did well to execute Valencia's second.

However, Henry refused to let Barca slip to their first league defeat in nearly two months as the Frenchman capitalized on Cesar's poor clearance to loop in the empty net.

Last time Barca lost in the league was the 4-3 defeat at Vicente Calderon against Atletico Madrid on March 1st.
