Ayman Abdul-Aziz's Konyaspor climbed out of the relegation zone after claiming a 2-0 home victory over Kocaelispor in the Turkish Super Lig on Sunday.

Defender Serhat Akyuz needed two minutes to open the scoring before Roman Kratochvil wrapped up the win with an 81st-minute strike.

Egyptian midfielder Abdul-Aziz, who played the full 90 minutes, received a yellow card six minutes before the break.

Abdul-Aziz has been a regular starter for Konyaspor since joining from Cairo giants Zamalek on loan in the January transfer window.

He is set to return to Zamalek after the end of the season.

Konyaspor moved to 13th place in the 18-team table on 35 points, two above the danger zone.

Abdul-Aziz will come face to face with compatriot Abdul-Zaher Al-Saqqa when Konyaspor meet fellow strugglers Eskisehirspor, who slumped to a 3-2 defeat to Denizlispor.

Egyptian defender Al-Saqqa took part in the game after serving an automatic one-game suspension.
