However, Ahli's official site confirmed that the Egypt international will resume full training after Thursday's game.

Gomaa's unexpected return will boost Ahli's backline as the 33-year-old could be available in crucial league matches against Harras Hodoud and Gaish.

Ahli's defense seemed to be struggling in the absence of Gomaa during the weekend's 2-2 draw with Kano Pillars, which saw the Egyptian champions crash out of the Champions League.
