Ahli said on Sunday that the Portuguese tactician has reached an agreement with the Palancas Negras, with reports in Egypt and Angola following the same notion.

However, Angolan FA general secretary Augusto Silva revealed that the CAN 2010 hosts will announce a new manager later this week.

"We will convene a press conference to publicize all the details related to hiring the new manager. But our intention is to do so no later than the end of this week," Augusto was quoted by ANGOP.

Augusto refused to confirm reports of an agreement with Jose, stressing that the Portuguese is one of few candidates linked with the job.

Another Portuguese linked with the Angola job was Luiz Felipe Scolari, who was reportedly tipped to replace Mabi de Almeida earlier this year.
