The Angolan Football Federation (FAF) have confirmed the appointment of Manuel Jose as head coach of the first team on Wednesday.

The Portuguese was due to leave his post as Ahli coach by the end of this month in order to take the helm at Angola, who said on Tuesday the decision is yet to be confirmed.

However, FAF chairman Justino Fernandes announced at a press conference that a deal has been done with the veteran manager.

Jose penned a one-year contract with the 2010 African Cup of Nations hosts in Luanda.

He is handed the task of leading the Palancas Negras in the continental showdown next year, following their World Cup qualifiers' exit.
