Tenorio

Zamalek football committee member Gamal Abdul-Hamid said that the club are currently holding talks with two strikers over potential summer moves.

"An intermediate offered us to sign former Ecuador and Al-Sadd striker Carlos Tenorio, but we are still negotiating his financial demands," Abdul-Hamid told Kora FM.

"He wants a sum of $5million over three years, which is too much to ask for. so, we're still trying to convince him to lower his demands."

Abdul-Hamid added that the club are talking with Ittihad Jeddah over the purchase of Al-Hassan Kieta.

The Guinean forward, who spent last season on loan at Real Mallorca in Spain, was offered to Zamalek for free by Ittihad chairman Mansour Al-Balawi.

"We won't need to pay Ittihad anything for Kieta's services as long as fund his personal demands."

Zamalek footsteps

Meanwhile, Abdul-Hamid stated that his club are moving in the right direction, adding that even Ahli are currently following in Zamalek's footsteps.

"When we promoted youngsters to the first team and they proved their worth Ahli started doing the same.

"Similarly when we made successful transfers from lower division teams," added the former Egypt skipper.

Over the last few months youngsters like Hazem Emam and Alaa Ali, as well as Sabri Rahil, who was bought from Makasa became pillars of the Zamalek squad.

Ahli have recently signed Mohamed Khalaf and Wael Shafik from second division clubs Nasr and Smouha respectively.
