"The board voted to part company with chief coach Michael Frontzeck immediately," Arminia said in a statement.

The defeat left Arminia third from bottom on 27 points, three adrift of the safe zone.

Frontzeck's successor is yet to be announced by Arminia, who appointed the former Germany international at the start of the season.

Arminia host Hannover in a must-win Bundesliga finale on Saturday.
