Gaish boss Farouk Gaafar is targeting an earth-shattering win over Ahli, 'only for the sake of his team', ahead of Wednesday's crucial league finale.

The Zamalek legend led Ghazl Mahalla to a 1-1 draw with the Red Devils back in 2002, handing Ismaili the league title.

This time Gaafar is looking to cause another upset, but stressed that he is only focused on his team's progress.

"When I said I want to repeat the scenario of 2002, I meant that only for the sake of my team, not for the benefit of others," he told FilGoal.com.

"I t will be a very difficult match of course, but we will do our best to improve our position."

Ahli and Ismaili are tied on 67 points as the Dervishes will host rock bottom Tersana in a relatively winnable game.

On the other hand, Gaish are seventh in the Egyptian Premier League table, and a victory at Military Academy could see them move up to sixth.
