Brazil coach Dunga left Ronaldinho out of his side's squad for next month's World Cup qualifiers and the Confederations Cup.

The two-time World Player of the Year has been overlooked after failing to impress at AC Milan, the club he joined from Barcelona last summer.

"I'm going to do everything possible to help him recover," Dunga told reporters on Thursday.

"I have confidence in him, he's a special player. He's having a bad time but I hope he can get over this."

Striker Ronaldo was also omitted despite putting in a string of impressive displays for Corinthians.

Five-home based players were selected - uncapped Gremio goalkeeper Victor, fullbacks Kleber and Andre Santos, midfielder Ramires and striker Nilmar.

Brazil take on Uruguay on June sixth and play Paraguay four days later.

The five-time world champions then head to South Africa to take part in the Confederations Cup. They were drawn in Group B along with Egypt, Italy and the United States.

Brazil open their campaign against African champions Egypt on June 15th.
