Wigan manager Steve Bruce has hit out at Amr Zaki's adviser and manager Mohamed Saied, whom he believes the reason behind the drastic drop in form of the Egypt striker.

Zaki, who joined Wigan on a one-year loan from Zamalek last summer, has opened the season in style, netting ten Premier League goals by October.

Since then, he hasn't scored in open play and fell out with Bruce on more than one occasion.

Saied said earlier this month that Zaki has decided not to negotiate a permanent move to Wigan, hinting at offers from other English and European clubs.

But Bruce said he doubts the chances of Zaki with any other English side, citing the player's undisciplined behavior through out the season.

"It's a shame what has happened. One of the problems is that Zaki has a guy, Mohamed Saied, who advises him," Bruce was quoted as saying by Wigan Today.

"His actual agent is Nader Shawqi, who has been very honorable and respectful through all this. But Saied fills Zaki's head with nonsense, absolute nonsense.

"I read some quotes from him this week that Zaki is the one who didn't want to stay here and he has four more Premier League clubs interested in him. Well, let's see."

Zaki's biggest problem was that he always reported late after international duty, with Bruce running out of patience with this behavior.

"It was going to be very difficult for me to make his move permanent with what happened," Bruce said.

"Coming back late from Egypt once you could forgive, maybe twice, but four or five times was just ridiculous. If everyone had done that it would have anarchy.

"Other players were getting themselves back from Honduras and Ecuador on time, so in the end I had no option but to do what I did."

Bruce's raid comes a few hours before Zaki's press conference in Cairo, where he is set to explain the dramatic end of his first season in Europe.
