غياب الجمهور ينتقص من المسابقة الإماراتية
The Egypt midfielder, who joined Emirati outfit Ahli last summer from Ismaili on a loan basis, was one of the key players who helped Ivan Hasek's side end their domestic campaign in triumph.
It took Abd-Rabou a while to settle down at the recently-crowned club, but he eventually managed to get along with his teammates and prove his worth.
"I wouldn't have been at this level if it wasn't for my teammates' support," the 24-year-old told renowned paper Al-Bayan. "Now, I will be seeking to maintain this form.
"Winning the league title was a deserved reward for us. We exerted huge efforts over the season, and did our best in every single game."
Abd-Rabou is now looking forward to playing in the Club World Cup, after his team secured an automatic spot in the global competition upon sealing the league title.
"Competing in the Club World Cup is a dream for every player," he said.
"Ahli are no minnows, they are able to impress against the continental champions."
Slipped-away Title
Although he's ecstatic over Ahli's success, the Ismaili homegrown player admitted the Dervishes' 1-0 loss to Ahli in the Egyptian league playoff upset him.
Ismaili had one hand on the title after finishing the season as joint leaders with the Red Devils, but the latter clinched the trophy after winning the decisive game.
"I was egging on Ismaili against Ahli, of course I wanted my hometown team to win the league title," he stated.
