Hodoud secured a hard-fought qualification for the CAF Confederation Cup quarter final, after they came from behind to beat Ahli Tripoli 2-1 on aggregate.

"Ahmed Abdul-Ghani should have returned to the club on May 29th, instead he came back one day later," Al-Ashri angrily said after the Ahli win.

Striker Abdul-Ghani, defender Ahmed Saied and winger Ahmed Eid Abdul-Malek were all with Egypt against Oman.

"Abdul-Ghani didn’t even take part in the friendly, and I don’t understand why he was picked up for the national team in the first place," Al-Ashri added.

"On the other side, Saied played for whole 80 minutes against Oman and he wasn’t fit to play in today's crucial game."

The ex-Egypt defender concluded that the Egyptian FA shouldn’t have scheduled the friendly at the same time with the Confederation Cup clashes.
