Ekrami just joined newly-promoted Gouna, and the Ahli prodigy admitted that he would have rather sealed a return to the Red Devils.

"I waited so long hoping for Ahli to make an offer but it didn’t happen," the 25-year-old told FilGoal.com.

"After that I chose Gouna because I enjoy a very good relation with their coach Ismael Youssef, but Ahli came along after that.

"I'm afraid Ahli's offer might be too late."

Ekrami added that he's willing to play for Ahli only if the Cairo giants reach an agreement with Gouna officials.
