Lierse's top flight dream vanishes

Last month, Lierse reached the final four-team round that determines which club will secure a top flight spot.

But after losing to Roeselare, their dream to compete in the first division vanished.

Egyptian duo Ahmed Samir and Mohamed Abdul-Wahed were named in Lierse's starting eleven, but couldn't make much of an impact.

Their compatriots Sherif Al-Biali, Islam Shokri and Youssef Fawaz took no part in the game.
