Algeria coach Rabeh Saadane asked his country's fans to show sportsmanship when they meet Egypt in the World Cup qualifier in Blida on Sunday.

Algerians are on their toes awaiting the crucial encounter, and Saadane urged his fans not to be provoked by some Egyptian players' acts during the game.

"Our fans have to be patient and we shouldn’t fall into the Egyptians' trap," Saadane said.

"They [Egypt] will try and force us to lose our temper, but the fans' commitment will help my players to hold their grip."

Saadane added that the Pharaohs will be under pressure, as they are keen to avenge for their loss to Algeria in the 2004 African Cup of Nations.

Ahli Downfall

The 63-year-old is convinced that Ahli's recent 'loss of form' has taken its toll on the six-time African champions.

"Egypt could only draw at home against Zambia. Their biggest club Ahli, which is the main source of international players, are also having a bad spell," he said.

Despite winning the Egyptian Premier League, Ahli were knocked out of both the African Champions League as well as the continent's Confederation Cup.
