Telecom Egypt have filed a complaint to FIFA regarding an alleged match-fixing of the Egyptian Premier League game between Ghazl Mahalla and Ittihad.

Mahalla were beaten at home by Ittihad on the final day of the season, a result which meant that Telecom were relegated despite their away win at Asyut Petroleum.

According to Telecom officials, Mahalla intended to lose the game for Ittihad's sake.

"We sent a complaint to the Egyptian FA, who didn’t send any responses within two weeks," Telecom football director Abdul-Hakim Sorour told FilGoal.com.

"That's why we decided to bypass the FA and call for FIFA's help."

In the meantime, Telecom coach Hossam Hassan asked the board to offload four players, who are surplus to the club's requirements next season.

Striker Magdi Abdul-Atti, full-backs Aboul-Magd Mostafa and Mohamed Hassan Atteya in addition to Ghanaian forward Shaibu Yakubu will all be released.

While Mostafa spent the past season on loan to Gouna in the second division, Yakubu was purchased by Telecom in January's transfer window.
