Lippi eyeing World Cup mix

Italy boss Marcello Lippi said that he's trying to build a well-balanced team consists of youngsters and veterans in order to compete in the 2010 World Cup.

The Azzurri are wrapping up their preparations for the FIFA Confederations Cup that kicks off on June 14th.

Meanwhile, the World Cup-winning coach has a vision for next year's gigantic competition.

"We will be trying to mix a few youngsters with the experienced footballers we have as this is how you blend a team for the World Cup next year," Lippi told FIFA's official website.

"Our immediate objective is to get some form going. I will be using players who are in good physical condition for the match against New Zealand."

Italy take on New Zealand, who lie in the Confederations Cup Group A, in a warm-up game on Wednesday.

The four-time world champions are in Group B alongside Egypt, Brazil and USA.
