Real, under the management of new president Florentino Perez, signed Brazilian playmaker Kaka for about €68 million from AC Milan.
They also had a world record bid for Cristiano Ronaldo accepted by Manchester United.
Real are set to pay the English Premier League champions €96 million to acquire the services of the Portuguese wizard.
Laporta, who has seen Barcelona claim the treble in a memorable season, hit out at Real over those deals.
"We make the FIFA World Player of the Year; they buy him already a full product. They are two models of different clubs," he told Spanish daily Marca.
"They are two different structures, two different forms to understand football and life.
"Our model is based on forecasts and work and that of Real Madrid is imperialistic, with an air of high-handedness and based on stealing."
A fierce challenge is expected between rivals Barcelona and Real for next season's Primera Liga title.
While Real are reinforcing their squad by luring world-class players, Barcelona's squad boats many high-profile ones including Lionel Messi, Samuel Eto'o and Thierry Henry.
