The English international is usually deployed on the right flank by Wenger, but he might have a new role next season.

"I spoke to the boss and he wants to sort of gradually move me into a striker role. I'll happily play anywhere for this club," Walcott told Daily Express.

"But no-one has seen me as a striker at the moment, which is my main position, so I'll be working well on that in the next couple of years."

The 20-year-old is currently in Sweden to play in the European Championship with England's U-21 team.
